HOUSING PLAN AND RECONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES
The original Piquiucho houses have been destroyed by the passage of time. The lack of financial resources has not allowed their owners to repair their homes, so they have been forced to live in deplorable conditions. This is compounded by the poverty of the majority of people in Piquiucho who have had no other option but to live in tiny homes which are poorly constructed. For example, a family of twelve might inhabit a house of two rooms with practically no roof.

Ulises proposed to solve this serious problem and has already rebuilt the homes of many families who have had their houses destroyed. He has also built forty houses. Ulises’ objective is to improve all one hundred and eighty houses in the village in order to provide more comfort and extra facilities to the two hundred families of Piquiucho.

Ulises also wanted to relieve the hard work of his people’s housewives when they do the laundry. These women had to wash the family's clothes in the river, in small containers or other extremely harsh conditions. Ulises has been responsible for the construction of laundries that provide more comfort for the women of Piquiucho.
